Grandma's Diary, Parts 30 and 31

As you, my readers, may have noticed, I appeared to have fallen off the face of the earth over the past month.  Very close.  Due to drastic changes in my life (a pending divorce and a move to another state), my genealogy research and my blog have been neglected.  However, I am now (sort of) back since I was able to find Grandma's diary in a box today!  I plan to post two parts per Friday post until I am caught up with these entries.

(To read prior entries from my maternal grandmother's 1933 diary, please click on the tab "Posts by Topic" and then go to the topic "California."  All posts are listed there.)
