Several years ago, my mother found my grandfather's, Charles Morgan Tapley's military flag. It was draped over his coffin in November 1973. When she found it, it was quite dirty and wrinkled. I did not want to wash it, due to its age, so I took the advice of a preservationist and I simply vacuumed it with cheesecloth over the vacuum hose to protect the material. Then I ironed it, and a friend helped me fold it with instructions from a YouTube.com video. It is now ensconced safely in a case and is predominately displayed in my home.
