This is a copy of a deed that I printed off microfilm at the North Carolina Archives in Raleigh, North Carolina several years ago. There are several of these in a folder so I am trying to get them organized and transcribed to share and have in my records. Most of them pertain to Hosea Tapley (1691-1778), my 6th great grandfather. However, this one refers to my 5th great grandfather, Joel Tapley (abt 1720-1790/91), the son of Hosea. New Tapley (abt 1736-?) is my 6th great uncle, the brother of Joel, and also the son of Hosea. Mary (1735-1790) and Elizabeth (1733-1790), their wives, were sisters; the daughters of Thomas (1712-1757) and Ursula Claiborne (1712-1756) Avent.
The following is an indenture dated 1758 concerning 200 acres located on the south side of Beaver Pond, Northampton County, North Carolina.
